At Lincolnshire German Shepherd Dog & All Breeds Training Society, we offer a range of training activities designed to help dogs and their owners learn, develop and have fun together.

Whether you’re looking for everyday obedience, an exciting new activity or the challenge of competitive dog sport, there’s something for you to discover.

Obedience

Building better relationships between dogs and owners A well-trained dog is a pleasure to own and can take a much fuller part in everyday family life. Our obedience classes range from basic pet obedience through to more advanced training, with some of our members going on to compete successfully at obedience shows around the country. Each class has a set of exercises to be trained. When owners and dogs become proficient at these they move onto the next class. Exercises are designed to develop control, communication and confidence. Some skills are useful in everyday situations, while others provide an enjoyable challenge for both dog and owner. Our experienced trainers are there to offer advice, encouragement and different approaches to help you and your dog progress.

Obedience classes are held on Sunday 10.30 - 12.00

Agility

Fast, exciting and great fun for dogs and handlers Agility challenges dogs to negotiate a course of jumps, tunnels and other obstacles under the direction of their handler. It's fantastic physical and mental exercise, but it's also about teamwork, communication and having fun with your dog. Our club has a particularly special relationship with the sport. Agility was first developed by members of our club in 1977, before a team of five club members demonstrated the new activity in the main ring at Crufts in 1978. That demonstration helped launch what would become a hugely popular dog sport enjoyed around the world.

Agility training is held on the following:

Summer training - Thursdays 6.30 - 8pm
Winter training - Saturdays 2.30 - 4pm

Working Trials

Challenge your dog's mind, body and training Working Trials is often described as the civilian equivalent of police dog work and provides an exciting challenge for both dog and handler. The sport combines several disciplines, including nosework, control and agility, with tracking also forming an important part of most levels. Dogs can progress through different Working Trials stakes as their skills and experience develop, from Companion Dog (CD) through to the more advanced levels. Our club has a long association with Working Trials and continues to provide opportunities for members interested in this challenging and rewarding dog sport.
