From everyday obedience and building a better relationship with your dog to competitive dog sports and new challenges, our club offers training for dogs and handlers of all abilities.
And despite our name, you don’t need a German Shepherd to join us – all breeds are welcome!
Dog training isn’t just about teaching your dog to sit and stay. It’s a great way to build confidence, strengthen the bond between you and your dog, meet other owners and, most importantly, have fun together.

Build a happy, well-behaved dog Good obedience is the foundation of a great relationship between dog and owner. Our obedience training helps you develop communication, control and confidence while teaching useful skills that can make everyday life with your dog easier and more enjoyable. Whether you're starting with the basics or looking to develop more advanced obedience skills, there's always something new to learn.
Agility challenges dogs to negotiate a course of jumps, tunnels and other obstacles under the direction of their handler. It’s fantastic physical and mental exercise for dogs of all shapes and sizes, helping to build confidence, coordination and focus. Most importantly, agility is all about teamwork and communication between dog and handler. Whether you’re looking to compete or simply want an energetic and rewarding activity to enjoy together, agility is a brilliant way to have fun, learn new skills and strengthen the bond with your dog.
Put your training to the test Working Trials provide a challenging combination of exercises designed to test the partnership between dog and handler. Training can include obedience, agility and scent work, providing both physical and mental challenges for your dog. Whether you're interested in competing or simply looking for a rewarding new challenge, Working Trials can take your training to another level.
We’ve been helping dogs and their owners in Lincoln for generations.
The club’s roots stretch back more than 60 years, evolving from a German Shepherd breed club into the all-breeds training society we know today.
Over the decades, our members have been involved in obedience, Working Trials, agility and other areas of dog training – and our club even played an important part in the birth of modern dog agility.
Today, we continue to bring dog owners together to train, learn and enjoy working with their dogs.
